What to expect from your family photography session
Your session will be relaxed and unhurried, with plenty of time for everyone to settle in. We’ll give you simple guidance where it helps, but we won’t expect anyone to hold stiff poses or force a smile. We’ll work through a mixture of family groupings and more natural moments, allowing children to be themselves and giving us the chance to capture the expressions, connections and little interactions that make your family unique.
What should we wear for a family photography session
Choose clothing that feels like you and that you’re comfortable wearing. Coordinating colours usually work better than everyone dressing exactly the same, and softer, neutral tones can help keep the focus on your family rather than the clothes. Try to avoid large logos, very bold patterns and anything that might distract in the photographs. If you’re unsure what will work best, we’re always happy to talk through outfit ideas before your session.
Can we include grandparents, older children or extended family?
Absolutely. Because New Beginnings Studio is a small, purpose-built space, larger family groups may need a little extra planning. We can photograph different family combinations throughout the session so everyone is included comfortably. If you’re hoping for one photograph of a larger group all together, we may suggest a suitable outdoor or alternative location. How do I book a family photography session?

We’ll then get back to you, talk everything through and help plan a relaxed session that works well for you and for the studio space.
What if my child doesn’t want to sit still or pose?
That’s absolutely fine. We don’t expect children to sit perfectly still or perform for the camera. We’ll keep things relaxed, give them time to settle in and work around their personality and energy on the day. Some of the most natural photographs come from letting children be themselves, so there’s no pressure for everything to be perfectly posed.
How long does a family photography session last?
The exact length can vary depending on the number of people involved, the ages of any children and how the session is flowing on the day. We don’t like to rush family sessions, so we allow enough time for everyone to settle in, take breaks where needed and work through the photographs we’ve planned together at a comfortable pace.

Our family photography packages start at £179, with three options depending on how many finished images and keepsakes you would like. Every session includes relaxed pre-session planning, time in the studio, careful editing and a private online gallery. You can choose the package that suits your family best, and additional images can be purchased after you have viewed your gallery.

The Complete Family Story — £379
Includes a relaxed family studio session with pre-session planning, time for everyone to settle in, a private online gallery, and a total of 20 individually edited high-resolution digital images. You’ll also receive 10 professional 7×5 prints selected from those 20 photographs, plus one piece of wall art featuring your favourite image — choose either a 20×16 professional canvas or a 16×12 premium Dibond mounted print.

What happens after our family photography session?
After your session, we’ll take the time to carefully review all of the photographs and select the strongest images for editing in our usual style.
